What I love about Ironman: For those of us who do multiple Ironmans, it defines us. Plus, after a couple years of IM training, those annoying co-workers quit asking us to lunch (because they know we’re sneaking in a quick run), the in-laws stop dragging us to holiday bazaars on Saturdays (“Sure, I’ll go with you if we can ride our bikes there at a 20 mph average and continue on for 5 hours”) and we quit getting pressured to have more kids, work longer hours, attend more family functions and host all those modern-day icky Tupperware-type parties because, well, all our friends/relatives/co-workers think we’re psycho exercise fanatics and they are right. Hooray!

After doing this sport for almost 10 years, I still enjoy the question "Why do you do it?" I enjoy having a "real" reason for getting out of bed in the morning whether it's to do a swim, bike or run. My favorite part of this whole process is getting to the point where it is effortless and having no thoughts, pure harmony.
My biggest accomplishment so far: Still doing this after 10 years and still smiling.
My 2010 race schedule (so far): Ironman CDA, Ironman Canada and a few half-IM.
My 2010 goals: keep smiling and enjoying it. Help someone else attain one or more of their goals.

Half-Ironman, and I like to train/race another year injury free.
Best discipline = Running
Discipline with the most room for improvement = Swimming
My Motto = I won't quit running when I get old. I'll get old when I quit running.
